Blogging and Libraries
The idea of setting up blogs in public libraries is an interesting one. Although many a problem may be experienced. The information posted on a blog may not necessarily be authentic. Some bloggers may see the blog as a way of making a statement about unrelated subjects. Libraries would need to spend a great deal of time deciding which Blogs neeed to be removed and which can stay. The Blogs I visites had little responses recorded. Library clients seem to be taking a long time to warm to the blogs. Some sites had no comments attached to them at all. I wonder if the library client that would be inclined to read such information would be more inclined to read it on a notice than on a computer. I suppose the older generation are becoming a little more techno savvy but we may have to wait a little while longer before the computer literate generation hits the library blogs and respond in a big way. Of course I could be very wrong as I have only viewed a couple of library blogs. I can see the use for blogs in a library but at the moment it would be the younger members that would be more inclined to support them.

Hopefully the older generation will take to blogging if they are given a chance.
